BUGSPRAY
I cannot hide from
ants, spiders and bees.
They track me down
and bug me.
On a street or
a porch,
singles, doubles or triplets
always dressed
in their Sunday best.
I shoo them.
They don't budge.
Spray them with Raid!
Squash 'em.
I imagine
briefly.
Clinging and crawling
on my fingertips.
Speaking of anthills,
spiderwebs,
beehives.
Similar paths
I will never tread
again.
I show them
to a garden
and leave.
I respect their beliefs,
I hope
they respect mine.
